How To Stay Fit

How do I stay fit? This is a question I get all the time. I believe staying healthy and fit is a lifestyle choice. So I workout six times a week and rest on Monday or Friday depending on how I feel. Some weeks, I workout everyday and eat very healthy. I mixed up my workout as I get bored doing one type of workout routine for a while except yoga. My workout routine also depends on my school schedules. Since every semester is a different schedule, the same goes for my workout routine.       Here is a break down of "How To Stay Fit." 1. Cardio: You have to put cardio in your workout routines. It will help you burn some fat fast and raise your heart...

Black Is Beautiful

Black is beautiful! Yes!  and we don't even have to say this that much because we're seeing all the many changes that's going on. If you don't know what I'm talking about it is ok, let me  break it down for you. This morning one of my amazing followers on Instagram sent me a message pointing out the new Calvin Klein campaign with the winners for the Oscar best picture (Moonlight). He was so excited to see the diversity in the campaign and so was I. I got to say, I was in tears that night watching all my people on the red carpet and on stage. That speech from  Viola Davis was so touching, she's always been my role model and...

5 Things You Don’t Know About Deddeh

Todays blog post is going to be all about me.. I have gotten so many questions about what I do, where I'm from, how I get through my days,  etc. so I decided to tell you all a little about me and what inspires me everyday. 5 things you don't know about me.  1. I didn't not grow up in Liberia:  I was born in Liberia, West Africa but I didn't grow up there. In fact, I only remember being in my country once, for Christmas when I was 7 or 8 years old, I think. I wish I had spent more time back home but I was too busy with catholic school which I asked my dad to attend when I was a...

Guess who? I know, I look so different to the point when I look at my self in the mirror I see a different person. That's the beauty of switching it up sometimes. Oh how I miss my long hair!! There is a reason for the long hair, but I can't fully reveal yet why, it is a secret at the moment, but stay tuned, but just know that I used to wear my hair long and for almost three years I wore my neutral hair. So it's time for a change. The hair only lasted for two days, after my shoot, because I'm not used to it yet and I wanted to take it off so bad. I got a...

Lady In Red

The color RED makes me so happy. I know I have been obsessed lately with color blocking and playing with patterns. I can't help that this fall is all about colors and It happen to be the time I choose to get more into colors. By that, I meant, starting to add more colors to my closet. Before,  when I would walk into a store, I'd head go right for the neutral colors, the black, tan and white because it just so easy to wear. For a long time I didn't really notice that closet was just black and white. A little bit of color variety but not that much. The same with me and my love for Jeans. I...

Fall With Theory

It has been such a crazy few days you guys, I feel like since I got back from Europe I got hit by so much work and school. That happens right? It's called life; I keep telling myself that. Some of you beautiful people have asked me how I managed my school with my blogging life and I have some answers for you. Firstly, once you have passion for something, that alone keeps you moving forward. Honestly, at first it was so hard to balance it all especially with all the other distraction around me. The first thing I had to do was to keep focus on my goal and not what I don't want to happen. Once I was focused,...

Alexander Wang And I

Lately, I have been spending most of my time in dresses. It does have a little to do with how hot it is right now but on the other hand, you just can't go wrong with a little black dress. As for this simple but elegant Alexander Wang dress, I give it a five stars. The funny thing is when I saw this dress it didn't look good at all on the mannequin in the store but was attached to the deep V neck cut and decided to try it on. Once this dress was on me, I didn't want to take it off, seriously guys I wanted to pay for it on and walk out of the store. That's how much...

The Dashiki

A few weeks ago after my parents got married, my  family and I were walking down the street of Indianapolis going to our car all dressed up in our African outfits that my mom friend made for us. I was wearing this beautiful and colorful skirt suit. For my none African friends, we call this traditional style Dashiki. It's a very popular design in the African community, the best part about it is, it comes in different colors and you can get it tailored in different styles. From just a shirt to wear with a jean to dresses, overalls, pants set and more. It's like designing your own clothes just the way you want it. This style I'm wearing was...
