75th Golden Globes Awards 2018

Going from sitting at home watching the Golden Globes to actually being at the Golden Globes and walking the red carpet was a night to remember!

Hello you guys and happy new Year! 2018 all started with a great surprise of being Raffael’s date (my boyfriend) at the 75th Golden Globes awards. It was one of the most historical and magical night in not only my life, but the life of so many A-list celebrities in Hollywood. I was so honored and blessed to be attending and walking the red carpet like all the stars for the 2nd time. So today’s blog post is going to be about my experience at the Golden Globes 2018 Awards.

I’d be lying to you if I tell you because it’s my 2nd time at the Golden Globes I wasn’t nervous. Before going there I was so nervous, at the beginning, I couldn’t breathe. I don’t know why but I was. While driving to the event, there were many fans on the street waving and screaming with joy. A lady even asked me to put down my window so she can take a picture with me, it was crazy fun to see how many people came to see their favorite celebrities walk the red carpet. There is a long line of cars getting to the event and we had to wait in the car and get checked by security with guard dogs and bomb detectors. The wait and the check didn’t matter too much because I was so overjoyed and nervous.

Our car stopped right in front of the red carpet and we had to walk out on it like all the stars. I didn’t want to get out of the car, there were so many fans, celebrities, hundreds of cameras and very bright lights. My heart was beating so fast, I finally got out of the car with the help of Raffael and we walked the carpet together. It was so magical and it all happened so fast, by the time I could think of what was going on, we’re almost at the end of the carpet.

There’s so many beautiful and sweet people you run into from my favorite movie stars to the once I didn’t even know. Just to name a few: Oprah Winfrey, Kerry Washington, Norman Reedus, Mariah Carey, Emma Stone, Angelina Jolie, James Franco, Tom Hanks, Dakota Johnson, Kendall Jenner and many many more. They were all well dressed, drinking and having fun. I had the chance to meet some of my favorite actors and actresses and got to talk to them calmly pretending like I wasn’t going to pass out when Kerry Washington took my phone out of my hands to take a selfie of us or when I had a conversation with Angelina Jolie and her friend in the Women’s bathroom about dresses. When you are standing in line behind Oprah, Ok, I’m not kidding, the bathroom at the Golden Globes is the best! I would be lying if I told you I was in the bathroom just once hahaha.

When Oprah took the stage and gave that beautiful and inspiring speech, it made me realize how lucky I was to be in the same room with the women that inspire me to wake up everyday and work hard for what I want and to help people. She was right in front of me and I wanted to let her know that but yes, I was too nervous and forgot to speak but I was at peace with my feelings. I was grateful and happy, it was a dream come true for me.

An hour before the show starts, we got served dinner and after dinner the show started and you’re not allowed to leave your seat till the show goes on commercial break. During the break you can get up and go to the restroom or the dessert and drinks bar in another room. This is were everyone was hanging out, eating, drinking and meeting each other. There’s a tv in the other room to watch the show In case you got stuck in there because you can’t interrupt the show since it’s live for people that’s watching at home. I got to experience the whole going on commercial break and coming back live, it was cool.

The Golden Globes is full with not only celebrities but food, drinks and after Parties. Speaking of after party, I think it’s the best part of the GG. So all the celebrities at the GG and that’s couldn’t make it to the show get to come to the after parties (more stars! I know right), Super models, musicians and more. We went to about 4 after parties, they are all in the same building at the Beverly Hilton hotel where the GG took place so you didn’t have to drive, very convenient. We went to HBO, HPL (this is where all the winners goes first) FOX and In Style Magazine. In Style is where it was all happening! Everyone who is someone in Hollywood is at the In Style party and it’s a big night of dancing, free drinks and fun and fun. There’s a red carpet or black carpet at each party and you can get you pictures taken by the press. At the end of the night, everyone that was at the GG award shows gets a gift bag, both men and women. I will share with you guys on my Instagram what was in my Kate Spade gift bag.

The Golden Globes is one of the only award shows where you really get to walk the red carpet, seat, eat, drink, hand out and party with all your favorite celebrities. If you’re at the Golden Globes, which is very hard to get invited to (many celebrities are not invited unless they are nominated) you’re a star and you get treated like one. I felt special, grateful and I was with the love of my life so we party, dance and had the night of our lives.

Thanks for reading.

Special Thanks to Marlene von Arx.

What an amazing experience– you look absolutely gorgeous and that dress is a stunner! And yes, totally agree that sometimes the bathrooms are the best places to be— I once was in the stall next to Catt Sadler 😀
