What To Wear In New York

If you’re a big fan of New York or if you are trying to visit, this post is for you. Before we go into what to wear in NYC, let me tell you why I was in the city for five days. You all know that I’m a Under Armour brand ambassador right? If not, I’m so excited to let you know that I am and this has been a life changing experience for me and my family. Anyways, I was in NYC for the new Under Armour women campaign called Unlike Any. Which highlights women empowerment and how women overcame obstacles in their lives. You guys have to check out this campaign, it so inspiring and powerful. I had tears in my eyes and you know I’m all for women empowerment because I have been through so much in my life and it’s about time we stand up and speak up for ourselves. When women come together, we can move more than a mountain, I really do believe that.

So that was one of my reasons of being in NYC. I also had the opportunity of a lifetime to shoot with Estée Lauder (coming soon) at their location with the whole team. I really did feel like a high fashion model, I felt so blessed and lucky and I can’t wait to share it all with you guys. This time, is was a bigger set up/ photo shoot with a lot more people and Raffael was on a break from shooting me for once. What I really loved was, I was allowed to be myself 100%. The shoot was all about me and what I do and the team was amazing. I also attended some fun events and connected with some many amazing friends. I love NYC for this reason.

Back to fashion and what you should wear at this time and for the next two months in NYC is this outfit in these images. I overlooked the memo of the weather and I did my own thing as always, but trust me, I was miserable with the heat and the bad smell of NYC. Let me break it down for you.

After all my events and shoots, we decided to take a day and half to hang out in NYC and enjoy the city. So I was wearing pants and a blazer and that’s when I realized I had to stop and change my whole outfit. New York is 90 degrees or more right and not to forget the city is very crowded and don’t smell that good. The heat was coming from everywhere even under the ground. I was so uncomfortable in the city that I love, I was sweating and sticky after walking 3 blocks. It’s safe to say, I love love NYC but I have no interest of living there. I’m more of a summer girl but California summer girl, with less people and the Ocean breeze.

So what to wear in NYC? I will say, skirt, light long sleeve, tank tops, a t-shirt and take some flats with you if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking. Over all, NYC is a city of dreams and it’s beautiful to visit. So my advice is to visit when it’s not as hot as it is right now or just take light clothing and you will have fun in the city. The city is very busy but it’s easy to meet people and make friends, also there are so many things to do and you won’t get bored that easily.

Thanks For Reading.

I also love NYC very much, but also cannot imagine living there either. It’s way too busy and expensive! I am however, always inspired when I visit and can’t get enough of traveling there. I’ll be there for almost a week for NYFW, so I’m pretty stoked about that. You look great as usual!

It’s definitely hard to come up with outfits especially with the NYC heat! I am used to it since I live here but I bet California weather is so much better. Can’t wait to see your photos with the estee lauder shoot!

Holly Molly! Girl, This outfit is so stunning from head to tie. I love this kind-of off-the-shoulder top, and it is definitely a bold move to style this adorable top with a statement leather skirt. This combo totally rock!! Love your heels too!! Great outfit! Love it.

You look fabulous in this outfit from head to toe! I’m so in love with that vinyl skirt. NYC is definitely not nice in the dead of summer. I’m never a happy camper when we get to hot and sticky summer months. I always get this voice in my head of Tim Gunn from Project Runway saying, “Make it work!” haha! Congratulations on your campaign with Estee Lauder!!

Not only did you feel like a supermodel, you look like one as well and that video is just perfection. I’m so proud of you for being a spokesperson for women empowerment as I believe equality between sexes is one of the most important issues of our time and despite being a white male, I’m with you all the way! So proud of you!
