Finally I can say I’m on vacation, well actually a family vacation for almost two weeks. I have been looking forward to just spending some time this summer with my family especially my dad and brother whom I haven’t seen twice in 10 years. Not that they care much about being away for 10 years but I do and it’s hard to see them while living Los Angeles. I miss my family so much and I’m glad to be home, I glad to be surrounded by people that are like me and speak my language. It is so peaceful this way. Living away in LA without my family can be very hard at times especially with beings busy a lot. On the other hand, my grandmother is turning 70th on Saturday and we are throwing her a big surprise party (she knows, so it’s not a surprise anymore) Liberian style. With a lot of people, African food, African music and lots of dancing. Oh yes! I’m definitely going to be vlogging when I’m not on stage giving some big speech (I have no idea what to say) that my family asked me to prepare. This is the kind of vacation where I’m still busy doing things even if I don’t want to. Don’t get me wrong, I will love telling my grandmother how amazing and inspiring she is and has been throughout my life but it’s more than a speech when I come to my family. It’s called the African vacation, work, work, work but I’ll take it because it still feels like home and I love being home and comfortable except being the center of attention.
Thanks for reading.
