How I Got My Dream Body

Let’s get right to the point, How did I get this body? To be honest, hard work and consistency. I know, that what they all say but many people don’t really tell you the full story behind that amazing toned body so let me break mine down for you.

How it all started:

One day I woke up and looked at my body and I realized I was too thin and needed more muscles (that was about 5 years ago by the way). So I started to do my research and there were a lot of options out there, knowing me I wanted something that works fast and something that I will love. The first thing you will think about is the gym and lifting weights right? Well that’s not me, I knew I wasn’t going to be comfortable and committed to that. So I discovered yoga. It totally transformed not only my body but my mind and my lifestyle. I started practicing yoga 4-5 times a week working my way into the advanced levels, I fell in love with yoga and even became a teacher.

 

Is yoga the only thing I did? Not really, yoga opened my mind to trying other exercises. I started taking swimming classes which helped a lot on the cardio side of workouts. So I got a gym membership finally also because I can’t be in the water everyday. I would go to the gym, run for 30 minutes to an hour. Do some legs and abs work and I’m done. I’m still not a big gym fan but it’s my lifestyle now and I love running so that works for me. While in the gym I discovered boxing, to much right? I know. But I love boxing just as much as running. So I guess I’m a boxer now. My point here is, you will need a couple of workouts if you want to achieve the perfect body. I also do 20- 30 push-ups 6 times a week not matter what happens or where I am. I have to do my push-ups.

How do my workout looks like:

So I do most of my workouts all on my own except boxing so here is how it looks like:
I work out 5-6 times a week. So I practice yoga at home 6 times a week, usually in the mornings. Boxing twice a week and gym (running) 3 times a week. I don’t workout on Sunday (yeah my rest day) and I have a very light workout which is yoga on Saturday. Someday, you will find me hiking and taking long walks just because I love physical activity. I used to play soccer up until high school so I love being on my feet. So that’s it, that’s how I got this six pac and this body. I went from thin to fit! and I love it. I try not to do the same workout over and over. Remember, your body gets used to the same exercises so be open and have fun.
Yes, of course food plays a big role here, that why I’m putting together “what food to eat” coming soon I promise.

    You have such an amazing body! Thanks for sharing your secrets and journey. I look forward to the “food” portion of your blog. I love eating and trying new foods. However, I also love having a sexy midsection (which seems to disappear almost immediately as it shows up…peekaboo anyone?). Anyway, I need some discipline and smart eating tips for my body. I don’t want to eat too little where my metabolism slows down, but I don’t want to over eat as well.

    Thank you for sharing this fitness post. Similar to you, I decided about three years ago to change my body, get fit & eat healthy. I started with spin classes, pure Barr, swimming, running. I do at least two of these a day. Maybe a little overboard but it works for me. I want to become a spin instructor. You look great! It is working for you.

    You certainly do have a dream body, girlfriend! It takes so much hard work and dedication, and I’m glad that yoga plays such a huge part in that because it’s great for not only the body, but the mind too. I’m hoping to get myself more into it soon!

    I loved that you shared this because I think you have an amazing body and I share a passion for fitness as well! I started to incorporate yoga back into my routine and I have been loving it. People might think it’s easy but it’s actually pretty difficult but there are so many benefits!

    Deddeh! I am in the same spot as you 5 years ago. I am too thin and need to build muscles! So after moving to Palm Springs I joined a local gym, and have been using equipment and taking advantage of the fitness classes. Every time I go to yoga class I think of you!
