How To Blog For Living 101

BLOGGING 101

Hello my love, happy Tuesday!

Finally, the post that most of you have requested. “How to blog for living and how I started my blog”. So let’s get right to it.
I started my blog a little over a year and a half ago and here is all the information I have learned and challenges I faced.

First most important question; Is blogging for everyone? I will say no! It’s really not for everyone because we’re all different and have to do things that makes us happy. If you start a blog and you don’t make the time to work on the blog or you just hate the ups and downs, it’s not for you. Before anyone decides to start a blog, you have to ask yourself, is this for me? Will I love it? Will it make me happy? Do I have the time to spend on my blog? M I patient enough? Why am I blogging? What is blogging? I’m I doing it for fun or just for the money and to become Instagram famous?.
If you have all the right and positive answer for these questions, than you will be successful at blogging.

See when I started, I had no idea what I was doing to be honest. I just had so much passion and was doing it for fun. I wanted to inspire women of all shades, I wanted to share my stories and help women live a positive and healthy lifestyle. So I called my blog “Secretofdd” because I felt that my secrets of how I became who I’m might help that one girl out there. I felt I have a voice and I believed in that voice with in me. Maybe this will help decide on why you want to blog. It shouldn’t be all about the Money, it’s not fun at all this way trust me.

Blogging Takes Time:

Blogging is not easy at all, if someone out there told you it’s easy, they’re lying to you. It will take up all your time if you don’t plan your schedule right. I was going to school and working at UCLA when I started my blog and that was so hard and time consuming. I wanted to quit so many times because I was so caught up in how hard it was instead of just sitting down and planning my days right. When I got my schedule down, it still wasn’t easy. I knew I had to give up my blog or my job. I realize I love blogging so much, I love telling my stories and helping you guys online so I quit my job and started blogging and going to school full time but it’s till a lot of work but you have to be patient, work hard and you will see amazing results. You’re not going to be famous or have people reading your blog over night. It takes a lot of time.

How Do I Get People To Read My Blog:

Facebook, my family and friends were my blog’s best friend. When I started, I link my blog to my Facebook and told my family and friends about my blog and why I was blogging. They when to check out my blog and gives their honest opinions and that kept my blog going.
Let’s talk about Instagram for a second, I had an Instagram account  before my blog but it just didn’t line up with my blog, it wasn’t the audience I was trying to reach so I started a new Instagram page and had no followers when I started. I told my followers from my other page about my blog and the once that love reading blogs came over. It started to glow slowly as I was posting consistently, I didn’t give up even though it was hard. I kept at it and worked very hard day and night. People saw the great content, my hard work and how helpful it was to them and they started following and recommendations me to there friends and my blog and Instagram page started growing.

Please do not buy your follows or likes on Instagram because it’s just bad for your blog and your health. I know so many bloggers that have fake audiences and they do this for the money. They are fooling the brands and themselves, it’s called low self-esteem and not believing in oneself. While they might get paid by the brands, it is so noticeable and sad. So try to be true to yourself and work hard and your blog will be amazing. Also the brands won’t fall for the fake followers much longer.

The next post will be more on how to grow your blog. Coming soon.

Thanks For Reading.

So true babe, blogging is not that easy. It requires more time. In my situation I was able to spend more time blogging last summer vacation. But when summer vacay was over and I went to work again, I started to struggle on how to blog atleast three times a week. I think I just need to manage my time wisely. I work 7:00 to 5:00pm. The only thing is that I’m so poor in time management. I really envy those bloggers like you who can spend more time blogging. I love blogging babe but I love teaching too. Thanks for sharing. You’re such an inspiration to us your followers and to those bloggers like me who are struggling.❤ Keep it up!

Thank you for sharing this post! I totally agree with you that blogging is not for everyone and there are so many ups and downs. You just have to push through and remember why you did it in the first place (and yes, it’s definitely not for the money). I love that you shared how you attracted people to your blog via Facebook. I need to find ways to also drive traffic to my blog more since that is where I share more of my personal thoughts versus the squares you see on Instagram. I can’t wait to read your next post! BTW I love your hair like this! You look amazing and this outfit is so classy and chic! xoxo, Christine

This is a great post! I think it’s so important for people to learn the fundamentals and what they’re getting into before they start blogging. So many people just think they can do it on a whim and they don’t realize how challenging it is.

I totally agree that blogging takes a lot of time! I’ve been blogging for 6 years now and it’s still a work in progress. And having the support of your friends and family is also important for me, too! Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🙂

This is really great insight for anyone thinking of starting a blog. It’s so true, blogging is not easy and it will take up most (feels like all, sometimes) of your time. I’ve been through so many ups and downs with my blog and during those times it is the passion that’s kept me going. Thanks so much for this post! I can truly relate to what you’ve said. I always love reading your blog, babe! Keep up the great work.
