Creating Authentic Content

Hello my loves,
Today’s blog post is all about being you, being different and creating authentic content. This is like a part 2 of my previous blog post ( How to blog for living 101). Again, I’m still new to blogging but I have learned so much and one of the things I have learned that has become easier for me now is to not be like others but myself. I believe we’re so different and unique in our own way and we just have to believe it.

How to stand out from the crowd:

I know, you must have heard that sentence so many times; “To be successful, you have to be different” but it’s actually true. So here is how it works for me:
I had no idea what blogging was all about but it was clear to me that I really love fitness, fashion, yoga, travel, writing and helping people. So when I got introduced to blogging, I had to ask myself the same old questions: what makes me different from others when it comes to content production? My answer was: I really care about fashion, fitness, yoga and helping others, so it became clear to me that’s what I wanted to focus on.
Since  I had already worked in a hospital and also had fashion job in the past, step by step things just started to make sense and came together for me. But I wasn’t going to  just start posting because I cared about itt, it had to help others as well. So that’s where the authentic content comes in. In other to produce great content, you have to love what you do, be open to trying new things and make sure it’s useful to other. You don’t have to keep posting for postings sake, you have to make sure whatever you posting for people to read is good. Make sure it’s interesting enough for you to go back and read it over and over and love it as well. I do that with my workout videos all the time. I simply go back and do the same workout I produced on a video (omg, it’s still hard every time) and that’s how I know, it’s useful content. I also listen to feedback from my audience and friends which helps a lot. Don’t get caught up in the money part,  trust me, it will come when you work hard and your content is useful and inspiring.

Trying New Things:

I did some modeling before but for some reason, when I started blogging I hated shooting videos. I was  with still images because I didn’t have to do much movement or talk to the camera so for that reason, I wanted nothing to do with recording videos. Also I just didn’t like seeing myself on camera or hear my voice (which I finally got over). I knew I had to get over this fear and try something new. So I did by practicing and getting over most of my fears. I also learned to do my own makeup and got over my bad skin days which we all have sometimes. I learned how to edit videos and add stories to the videos. This video is one of my practice examples as I’m still learning but videos are amazing and sets you apart from others. You can become so creative in your videos, you can tell stories and create different content this way.

Today anyone can buy a good camera, Photoshop their images and go out there and buy an audience by buying followers. But many bloggers that are not true to themselves find it hard to be different from others and this is why you see very few are more known and successful than others. Too many simply copy the content form others, without actually creating their own. You have to be open, different, patient to create great content and be authentic.

I love this post! It gets really frustrating to see a lot of other bloggers grow considerably from other ways like buying or whatever and staying authentic will pay off in the long run. I am totally with you on being uncomfortable on camera and I do need to start doing some video soon. You are inspiring me to do so soon. Wow, your body is so insane and I can see that your daily workouts really have paid off. You look amazing! xoxo, Christine

OMG LOL I can totally relate to the hating videos point you made… LOL… only difference is I haven’t overcome that aspect personally. I prefer still images too. But I totally agree with you — it’s so important to diversify and try new things. Getting out of your comfort zone can definitely lead to wonderful opportunities. I actually love your videos (especially your workout ones on youtube) so you’re doing a fantastic job Deddeh! xo, sharon

As bloggers we definitely have the responsibility to create high quality, meaningful content that we actually believe in, and that is of value. Loved this!

I love your words of wisdom on this post, especially the bit about not being caught up in the money part of things. You’re absolutely right, the more authentic and the more effort you put into delivering your own niche that’s when opportunities start coming in. You’ve got such amazing content on your blog, Deddeh! Your workout tips & vids are so helpful. One day I hope to finally get abs like yours 🙂

Since being a fashion blogger for a little while, I have learned that posting every day is not necessary. Posting less regularly allows my inspiration to be refilled so I write better content and take better pics. This look is banging on you btw girl!
